GREY WING SECURITY

Sacramento

Sacramento-based security, IT, and GRC for growing teams

Grey Wing Security is a founder-led MSSP based in Sacramento. We run security, IT, and compliance work for growth-stage companies that need an owner for the systems behind their program, not another slide deck.

01

Who we help

We work best with SaaS and other growth-stage companies where the founder or an engineering lead still owns security alongside the product.

Typical triggers:

  • A buyer questionnaire or security review that needs a real owner
  • SOC 2 readiness work where policies, controls, and evidence have to match the systems you run
  • Cloud and identity gaps that keep showing up in customer diligence
  • IT operations (accounts, devices, SaaS admin) that need a steady cadence, not a one-time cleanup
  • A team that wants a Sacramento-based partner who will work in your accounts and leave a usable record

We work with teams in Sacramento and anywhere else. Much of the work is remote inside your cloud, identity, and device consoles. Being based in Sacramento means we can meet nearby teams in person when it helps.

02

What we do here

Work sits in three programs. The proposal names the systems, deliverables, and client responsibilities before kickoff.

Security Program

Application and cloud security, enterprise security, and detection and response in one operating program. We make agreed changes in your environments, track remediation, and report what is done, what is open, and what needs your decision.

IT Program

Employee accounts, managed devices, SaaS administration, and infrastructure operations. Onboarding, leavers, access changes, and daily maintenance stay owned so security work is not sitting on broken IT fundamentals.

GRC and Compliance Program

Policies, control ownership, audit readiness and evidence, customer security reviews, and risk and vendor tracking. Evidence stays connected to the systems behind it. An independent firm still issues any SOC 2 report. Grey Wing helps you get ready and stay ready.

We take ownership of GRC and security questionnaires for growing SaaS when that work is in scope. That means answers, evidence links, and follow through, not a claim that we certify your company.

03

How local and remote work together

Sacramento is our home base, and we work with teams wherever they are.
  1. 01

Scope. We agree on systems, deliverables, fees, working hours, and response expectations before kickoff. Changes to scope need your approval.

  2. 02

Delivery. We configure agreed controls, collect evidence, and track the work plan inside your accounts. Your team approves changes that affect people or production systems.

  3. 03

Close or continue. We check deliverables against the proposal, hand over documentation, and review access. Continuing work is a new or recurring scope, not an open-ended claim.

You keep ownership of business decisions and risk acceptance. We keep the operating work moving and leave records your team can use in the next review.

04

What buyers and auditors actually ask for

The work has to survive a security questionnaire, a customer diligence call, or a formal examination period.

Buyers and reviewers usually want:

  • Named owners for security, IT, and GRC work
  • Access and device controls that match your headcount and stack
  • Evidence that is current, not a folder of stale screenshots
  • A clear story for how incidents, leavers, and exceptions are handled
  • Questionnaire answers you can defend with links to real systems

We build toward that operating evidence.

05

What you get

Grey Wing is built as a direct working relationship with the practitioner accountable for the agreed work. Proposals name systems, deliverables, client responsibilities, and the decisions that stay with you.

Deliverables stay in your accounts: work plans, configuration records, runbooks, and evidence for your auditor or customer review. Progress reporting covers completed changes, open risks, and decisions needed.
